Job Title: Civil Estimator Job Location: Jacksonville, FL
Salary: $100k-140k
Requirements: 5+ years civil estimating experience, FDOT experience required, HCSS HeavyBid and Bid2Win highway preferred. Industrial Estimating Experience also preferred.
Position Overview The Civil Estimator will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase of projects by providing accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects. This position requires strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of civil engineering principles to ensure that bids are competitive and reflect the true cost of project execution.
Key Responsibilities - Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for various civil construction projects, including heavy highway, industrial, water, wastewater, and marine works.
- Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and other documents to prepare comprehensive bids.
- Utilize estimating software such as B2W, Bid2win, HCSS, and HeavyBid to streamline the estimating process.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and clarify project requirements.
- Review and assess project costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
- Monitor and update bid prices based on market trends and material costs.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to better understand project scope and requirements.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience as an estimator in civil construction, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as B2W, Bid2win, HCSS, and HeavyBid.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction materials, methods, and costs for heavy civil projects.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to work with complex data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam for document management and analysis.
