Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Ranking Data Scientist to drive innovation in machine learning models by leveraging exploratory data analysis on large, complex, and high-dimensional datasets . This role focuses on improving ranking and recommendation systems , with a strong emphasis on computer vision , experimentation, and metric-driven decision making.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building and evaluating predictive models , translating insights into production-ready solutions, and partnering closely with engineering and product teams to improve content ranking, engagement, and shareability.

• Apply expertise in statistics, machine learning, data modeling, and advanced mathematics to identify patterns, opportunities, and insights that drive product improvements.

• Design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and ranking algorithms to optimize content relevance and engagement.

• Leverage computer vision techniques and feature extraction to identify visual signals that influence content ranking and shareability.

• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) on large-scale datasets to inform model development and experimentation.

• Generate hypotheses, design experiments, and analyze results to measure metric movement and product impact .

• Partner with software and product engineers to translate prototypes into scalable, production-ready systems.

• Conduct experimentation reviews and provide recommendations based on data-driven insights.

• Support leadership reporting through weekly metrics, insights, and performance summaries.

• Deliver ad-hoc analyses to support product, engineering, and leadership decision-making.

• Identify and analyze target user segments to inform short-term and long-term product strategy.

• Provide business intelligence and data visualization support , including dashboards and analytical reports.

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL .

• Hands-on experience building, training, and evaluating machine learning models using PyTorch and/or TensorFlow .

• Practical experience working with computer vision models (e.g., image classification, object detection, feature extraction).

• Solid understanding of ranking systems, recommendation systems, and evaluation metrics .

• Experience with experimentation frameworks , hypothesis testing, and A/B testing.

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly through written documentation and presentations .

• Experience working with large-scale datasets in production or research environments.

• 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or applied machine learning roles.

• Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related technical field (PhD preferred).

• Experience working on content ranking, recommendation systems, or engagement optimization .

• Strong background in statistics, causal inference, or experimental design .

• Experience with data visualization and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).

• Familiarity with large-scale data processing frameworks .

• Experience working in cross-functional product environments .
