Senior Procurement to Procurement Manager
South side of Greater Houston Area
145-165k base plus 0-20% profit share and 9% on 6% 401k match, 9/80 work schedule
Our client is seeking a seasoned procurement professional who is ready to take on leadership responsibilities or a proven leader who is ready to elevate the procurement function at a chemical plant. You will supervise a small team of buyers and warehouse personnel and guide them through a decentralization of the procurement function. The plant is shifting to rely much less on corporate resources. You will report to the Commercial Director. This plant has long term growth plans.
Serve as a working manager
Establish and maintain reliable procurement systems and establish consistency
Develop a full and consistent SAP utilization
Use a "high touch and light touch" approach to coaching and mentoring
Manage the large negotiations and execute contracts
Manage the high value contract relationships
Build up warehouse procedures and systems and establish consistency
BS Degree and a strong track record of success in the procurement field for a minimum of 5 years . Overall experience level in the chemical industry is 10 years total with 5 of that in procurement.
